A family is preparing to say their final good-byes to 21-year-old Nedzad Botonjic.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Botonjic was fatally shot Monday at a Regency gas station.
Police are searching for two men in connection to the crime. They believe one of the men may be in Orlando.
The father of the victim, Rufad Botonjic, told WOKV’s partner Action News that he no longer wants to live in the city.
“Jacksonville is the worst place on the planet,” said Botonjic, a Bosnian immigrant. “This place is terrible. Every day, more and more crime.”
JSO said the 21-year-old died on scene at the BP gas station on Atlantic Boulevard Monday.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots after seeing a fight between the victim and two suspects, according to police.
Authorities in Jacksonville and Orlando are on the lookout for a red, 4-door car that appears to be a Toyota Corolla.
Botonjic’s funeral is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida on St. Johns Bluff Road.
