First Alert Weather: Damp morning roads and more rain developing today

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Damp local roads after overnight / early AM showers.

  • A few isolated showers are possible this morning.
  • Some dry morning hours before more scattered rain and a few afternoon storms arrive.
  • Flood watch in effect for areas along and north of I-10 after heavy weekend rain.
  • Bands of rain then move across the area today with a few embedded storms in NE Florida.
  • Local nor’easter begins Tuesday.
    • Winds increase off the Atlantic tonight and into Tuesday.
    • Minor to moderate coastal, ICWW, and St. Johns River basin flooding at high tides is possible beginning Tuesday night through late week.
  • Winds pick up Tuesday and Wednesday.
    • Gusts could be as high as 35-45 mph along the coast on Wednesday.
    • Rough ocean and beach conditions starting Tuesday and the rest of the week.
    • Beach erosion is likely through this weekend.
  • Additional rain totals of 4-7″ of rain are possible this week in many local neighborhoods.
