Fleming Island native killed in line of duty in Alabama

Jacksonville, FL — A Clay County native has been killed in the line of duty in Alabama.

Mobile Police Officer Sean Tuder was shot while trying to serve a warrant on Sunday. The city's police chief says Tuder worked hard during his five years with the department.  Marco Perez, who had been accused of property theft and filing a false police report, is now charged with capital murder.

According to Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels, Tuder graduated from Fleming Island High School and still has family living in the area. Action News Jax reports Tuder previously worked for the Palatka Police Department.
