Fletcher High School temporarily closing campus due to 'multiple’ coronavirus cases

Fletcher High School is closing its campus and will be converting all of its classes to Duval HomeRoom until at least next Monday due to 'multiple’ coronavirus cases.

In addition, all athletics, including the JV football game that had been scheduled for Wednesday evening, and after-school activities have been canceled.

During the school closure, the school plans to thoroughly clean and disinfect the school and will also be working with the Department of Health on contact tracing.

On Monday, or earlier, the school will announce whether students can return to campus or if online instruction will need to continue.

In previous standards released by Duval County Public Schools, the district said a school closure would only be required if at least 20% of students reported exposure to coronavirus. Exposure in this case is defined by the district as ‘prolonged direct contact’ with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19.
