Florida Blue warning about potential scammers making unauthorized, automated calls

Jacksonville, FL — With Open Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act marketplace underway, Florida Blue is warning about a rise in potential scam calls.

Florida Blue says people from all across the state have reported unsolicited, unauthorized, automated calls talking about health insurance and claiming to offer plans-- but the organization says it's not from them.

Florida Blue says many of these calls refer to either 'Blue Cross' or 'Blue Cross and Blue Shield' and will even offer competitor products, potentially in an effort to get your personal information.

To help know if it's a real call from Florida Blue, they've posted more information HERE.

Florida Blue wants people to know they will never ask you for financial or banking information, or ask for full social security numbers, over the phone.

You can also just hang up and call Florida Blue directly, using the phone number on the back your member ID card.
