Jacksonville FL — Late Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Darryl Daniels as sheriff of Clay County. According to the executive order from the governor, Daniels suspension is effective immediately.
Daniels was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of giving false reports to law enforcement officers and one count of tampering with evidence.
In a video released late Thursday, Daniels proclaimed he is innocent and blames dirty politics for the timing of his arrest.
