“Florida Man” night, other promotions coming next Jumbo Shrimp season

Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville’s minor league baseball team is rolling out a slate of promotions ahead of Opening Night next month, and that features Ramen Noodle Night, Halfway to Pumpkin Spice Night, and “Florida Man” Night.

There are 70 home games for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the season that starts April 4th. There will be 22 fireworks dates, 13 giveaways, and five free military appreciation nights.

Many of those game days will feature fun themes:

-April 27th: Halfway to Pumpkin Spice Night- Halfway to what is traditionally considered pumpkin spice season, the Jumbo Shrimp will give the first 2,000 fans Jumbo Shrimp coffee tumblers. There will also be pumpkin spice shrimp available at concession stands and many pumpkin spice prizes.

-May 31st: World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail (Sauce) Party- In their take on the annual Florida/Georgia football game held in Jacksonville, which some refer to as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party because of the crowds that swarm around the stadium and Downtown, the Jumbo Shrimp will give fans wearing orange and blue or black and red collegiate shirts a discount on tickets. There will also be a giant dunk tank filled with cocktail sauce, a light-up “shrimp drop” counting down to fireworks, and an attempt to break the World Record for the most party poppers popped at the same time.

-June 22nd: Ramen Noodle Night- The team is celebrating the 4,000th anniversary of the noodle by giving the first 2,000 fans through the gate a “Jumbo Shrimp Flavor Ramen noodle” pillow. Jumbo Shrimp flavored Ramen- the edible kind- will also be available at concession stands.

-July 24th: National Drive Thru Day- The ballpark is being turned in to a massive drive thru. The team says cars will come through each inning to get food from out in right field.

-July 26th: “Florida Man” Night- According to the Jumbo Shrimp, “We all know Florida Man or have at least seen him on the news. He could be tossing an alligator in a window or he could be driving a Ferrari of a pier at the behest of his savior. We know it’s a weird state so let’s embrace it and all it’s weirdness.” The team is honoring “Florida Man” be breaking a weird Florida law every inning, although they’re asking you not to tell on them.

-July 30th: Dreams Come True (literal) 2 for Tuesday- The team will try to set a Southern League attendance record, by having just two people in the stadium. This is in partnership with Dreams Come True, with a Dreamer and parent being the two guests. The Dreamer will throw out the first pitch and they will both get authentic Jumbo Shrimp jerseys. You can join in from just outside of the ballpark- the Club is hosting a party beyond the Budweiser Tiki Terrace, which will include singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the 7th inning.

This all comes in addition to some of the other promotions that the team has run, including Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNdays, Community First Credit Union Two For Tuesdays, Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays, and more. There will also be five games that dogs get in to the park- April 17th, May 14th, June 24th, July 24th, and August 7th.

You can get a full listing of promotions on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp website.
