Former Clay County teacher accused of having sex with former student

Jacksonville — A former Clay County Junior High School teacher is in jail, accused of having a sexual relationship with a former student.

According to the arrest report, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Loren Neely was arrested  for unlawful sexual contact with a victim 16 or 17.  According to JSO they received a complaint, Neely had sex with the underage former student twice last fall.

The warrant details Neely and the victim spoke daily over social media. Police say the victim told police Neely gave her money for an abortion after he learned that she was pregnant.

Police say in messages between Neely and the victim, he asked her to lie about the nature of their relatonship if confronted by school administrators.

In a statement from Clay County School District they say Neely was a teacher at Orange Park Junior High, hired in 2013.  Clay Schools say Neely was removed from the school when they were made aware of the investigation and Neely resigned at the end of March.

Neely remains in Duval County Jail, he’s being held on $250,000 bond.
