Jacksonville, Fl — We are expected some fringe impacts from Hurricane Sally, as early as this afternoon.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says we could see a few heavy rain bands with scattered storms. That will mean gusty winds, brief heavy rain and an isolated tornado threat.

There is a risk of a few strong storms today and tomorrow, as Sally makes its closest approach.
“We’ll continue to see some bands of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, they’ll be on and off but they’ll be locally heavy", Buresh said.
By late in the week, winds will shift and somewhat cooler air will return. Afternoon temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will ‘only’ be in the low 80′s, but still humid, with gusty winds off the Atlantic and a few showers at times.
