A major crash in Clay County has left six people hurt, including an infant girl, who’s injuries are considered life threatening.
The Florida Highway Patrol says five vehicles were involved in the crash on Blanding Blvd at College Drive Sunday, and six patients were transported in all.
FHP says a Jeep was heading south on Blanding in the center lane, when it the back of a Kia Soul stopped for a red light at College Drive. Three other vehicles were hit in the fallout of the initial collision, according to a preliminary crash report.
The infant and two other people were in the Kia. The baby’s injuries are considered life threatening, and the two others in that car suffered minor injuries. The initial driver and two people in one of the vehicles involved in the secondary collisions also suffered minor injuries.
Charges are pending further investigation.
For a time, all lanes of Blanding were being diverted. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says lanes have since reopened.
