Jacksonville jury recommends death for convicted murderer

A jury has recommended the death penalty for a Jacksonville man convicted of stabbing and strangling his neighbor to death.

In May 2012, 50-year-old Dennis Glover told his girlfriend he heard screams coming from the house of a woman living two doors down from them, and that he should go check on her. JSO says Glover first reported finding that woman, 51-year-old Sandra Allen, dead. He was charged with murder after his DNA was found around Allen’s home and Allen’s blood was found on his shoes- even though he initially denied entering the home.

Glover was convicted of First Degree Murder last week. A judge will decide whether to heed the jury’s recommendation in February.
