Jacksonville police arrest man for fatal stabbing of brother in Oceanway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested for murder after police say he fatally stabbed his brother at a home in Oceanway, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced.

Action News Jax reported that on Saturday night, officers responded to the 2300 block of Davis Road just before 8 p.m. after a report of a stabbing.

According to JSO, when District 6 patrol officers arrived, they found the victim, 30-year-old Ryan Daniels, bleeding on the front porch. Despite efforts to save him, Daniels died at a local hospital.

Officials said detectives reviewed evidence and spoke with witnesses, quickly identifying 38-year-old Eric Mincey — Daniels’ brother — as the attacker.

Mincey was arrested Sunday on a murder charge and is being held in the Duval County jail awaiting a court appearance.

“Our hearts are with Daniels’ loved ones, and we will continue to seek justice for him,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
