Jacksonville, FL — Nearly two years after a shooting in the Moncrief area killed two men, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office now believes it has arrested the suspect responsible.
JSO says evidence left at the crime scene near W. 28th Street and Stuart Street led them to identify 26-year-old DonJuan Powell Jr. as a suspect in the October 28, 2017, shooting.
Police say the two victims were found by officers at that intersection with multiple gunshot wounds and died at the hospital. Police identify them as Dorian Brown Sr. and Darnell Dues.
But police say this is still a very active investigation, as they believe Powell may be involved in several other crimes as well. They are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff's office or First Coast Crime Stoppers.
