JSO investigating after 4 shot on Westside, 1 woman dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 5:25 PM UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office held a briefing on the shooting that occurred in the 8200 block of Susie Street Monday afternoon.

JSO said that officers responded to the scene around 1 p.m. after receiving multiple calls referencing a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found three people shot and transported them to local hospitals. One victim, a 57-year-old white woman, died at the hospital.

The other two victims transported to hospitals were a 33-year-old black male and a 69-year-old black male. JSO said that a 31-year-old black male self-transported to a separate hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound.

JSO said multiple people are in custody and investigators are conducting interviews to determine which individuals are suspects and which are victims.

Investigators describe the incident as “dynamic” and are working to determine how the shooting transpired. They believe the shooting happened outside the home.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after at least one person was shot on the Westside.

It’s happening in the 8200 block of Susie Street, which is near 103rd Street and Old Middleburg Road North.
