UPDATE 10/2 at 3 PM: Jacksonville Fire Rescue says the issue with the 911 call system has been resolved. According to JFRD, the problem was a faulty piece of hardware in the system.
UPDATE 10/2 at 8 a.m.: The City says they are still experiencing intermittent issues with the system. If people still experience a long ring time they are asking for people to call (904) 630-0500.
The City of Jacksonville and the Town of Baldwin are still experiencing intermittent issues with the 911 call system as of Friday morning.
If you have an emergency and are unable to get though on 911, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office recommends calling their non-emergency line at (904) 630-0500.
City spokesperson Nikki Kimbleton says they are still experiencing intermittent issues with the system as of 7 am Friday.
