JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville opens its application portal for Duval County residents needing emergency rental and utility assistance today at 8 AM.
Households negatively affected by COVID-19 can receive up to a year of past due rent and utility payments.
Residents must have an income that falls below 80% of the area median income with priority given to households with incomes at or below 50% of the area median income as well as those with one or more household members who have been unemployed for at least 90 days.
The income requirements:
One person at 50% AMI /$29,300; at 80% AMI/$46,850
Two people at 50% AMI /$33,450; at 80% AMI/$53,550
Three people at 50% AMI / $37,650; at 80% AMI/$60,250
Four people at 50% AMI /$41,800; at 80% AMI/$66,900
Five people at 50% AMI/$45,150; at 80% AMI/$72,300
Six people at 50% AMI/$48,500; at 80% AMI/$77,650
Seven people at 50% AMI/$51,850; at 80% AMI/$83,000
Eight people at 50% AMI / $55,200; at 80% AMI/$88,350
In addition to the income requirements, applicants must be residents obligated to pay rent in a residential dwelling in Duval County, inclusive of the Beaches and the Town of Baldwin.
Eligibility also includes those who demonstrate a risk of homelessness or housing instability as well as those living in unsafe or unhealthy living conditions.
