A renewed push to get you covered.
Ahead of the March 31st healthcare enrollment deadline, the City of Jacksonville is launching some new initiatives to make signing up for healthcare easy for you.
“People are still unaware of how they can enroll, and a lot of people are unaware of the deadline,” says Enroll America Regional Organizing Lead Tony Penna.
“There were issues with the website and people were reluctant to try it. Since the website’s been fixed, we’re seeing a growing number of people enroll,” Penna says.
Enroll America, along with the city and several other community organizations are coming together for three large scale enrollment events- one in each of the remaining three enrollment months. Penna says the events will include every available Navigator in the county coming to the one location to help you sign up for coverage.
Before the October launch of healthcare.gov, Penna says there were an estimated 157,000 in Duval County who didn’t have healthcare coverage.
This first enrollment event will take place at the Legends Community Center on Soutel Drive between 9 AM and 3 PM Saturday. The other two events will be on February 22 and March 22 at locations that haven’t yet been determined.
