Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say they've arrested Clinton E. Gupton on charges of attempted second-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The arrest comes a day after they asked for the public's help in finding him.
They said Gupton is a known drug user relying heavily on pain medications and frequented the Phillips Highway and Emerson areas.
That's the same area where police found human remains Sunday night. They've been looking for evidence in the case of missing woman Tara Hawkins.
Police say Gupton is not connected to those cases.
