JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the person hit on Beach Boulevard has died from their injuries.
A pickup truck traveling west on Beach Boulevard struck a man in his 50s crossing the road from south to north.
The man hit was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
JSO has said that this is an active investigation and they are still looking to see who is at fault.
The driver of the pickup truck did stop and stayed at the scene. He and a passenger were not hurt in the accident.
This is the 157th traffic fatality of the year and 41st involving a pedestrian.
