JSO: Man tells woman he killed his girlfriend, shows her the victim

Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville man has been arrested for the death of his girlfriend, and police say he admitted to driving around with her dead body.

WOKV first reported Thursday that a woman was found dead in the back of a car at an apartment complex on Confederate Point Road, and foul play was suspected. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has now arrested 21-year-old London Woodworth, who they say was in a relationship with the victim, Andrea Petrick.

According to Woodworth’s arrest report, he admitted to someone that he killed Petrick Thursday morning and drove around with her body in the car. Woodworth then allegedly drove to the apartments around 2PM and told someone that he had killed her. The arrest report says the witness went to the car and found the victim wrapped in a blanket and on the floorboard.

A witness told police that Woodworth was diagnosed as bipolar schizophrenic and had been taking medicine until recently, according to the arrest report. The witness further said Woodworth has a history of drug use, and his behavior had recently deteriorated.

The manner of death of the victim has not been released, although the arrest report says the suspect used his body as a weapon, which indicates there was physical contact.

The arrest report further shows that on Thursday morning, Woodworth allegedly talked to someone about the fact that he would soon be going to prison for an unrelated case. Court records show Woodworth was going to soon be sentenced for driving without a driver’s license and causing serious bodily harm. The warrant in that case show Woodworth was responsible for a head-on crash on Fouraker Road on February 10th, where he was driving fast and crossed double yellow lines to try to pass two vehicles, and caused a crash.
