JSO motorman involved in Arlington crash

Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office motorman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a crash this morning on University Blvd  and Atlantic Blvd.

The officer, a more than 10-year veteran with JSO, was responding to a crash on the Mathews Bridge around 8:15am.  He was driving north on University approaching Atlantic Blvd. when a tree trimming truck struck the rear-end of the motorcycle.

The officer was ejected from the motorcycle, and taken to UF Health for treatment of injuries.  Witnesses report the officer was traveling with lights on at the time.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the officer’s family has been notified.

The driver of the tree trimming truck remained on scene for questioning.  at this time, no one has been cited.
