Jacksonville, FL — They're fully trained and all they need now is a family.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says two dogs graduating from their 'A New Leash on Life' program still need a home.
Police have released the following descriptions about both dogs:
'"Remo" is a one year old mix breed male. He loves other dogs and is kid friendly. “Remo” passed his obedience test and is up to date with all of his shots, he is fixed, heart-worm negative and micro-chipped.'
'"Marilyn" is a one year old Lab Mix. She is playful and loves other dogs. "Marilyn" is kid friendly and she passed her obedience test. She is up to date with all of her shots, fixed, heart-worm negative and micro-chipped.'
Both dogs graduate from the program on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Montgomery Correctional Center. We're told the adoption fee is $40.
JSO says their program "A New Leash on Life" takes dogs from the city's shelter, where they would likely be euthanized, to be trained by inmates in hopes of getting them adopted.
