Local Representatives react to Mueller report findings

Jacksonville, FL — Northeast Florida Representatives are reacting to the Special Counsel findings of no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.  The Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him’.

Republican John Rutherford said it is shameful that the Special Counsel was unwilling to clearly state that the president did not obstruct justice despite finding no evidence whatsoever that the president acted with ‘corrupt intent’.

Representative Michael Waltz told CNN’s “New Day” that he wants the full Mueller report available to be public.  Waltz said the findings are a win for democracy. “The American system has prevailed”, Waltz said.

Democratic Representative AL Lawson told WOKV he agrees that the findings should be made public.

"You financed it with public money, so I think the tax payers need to know exactly what's in the report," Lawson said.

He said a report that took so long to complete should have taken more than 48 hours to fully digest.

"Mueller said there was no collusion, but it's still important that you have transparency," Lawson said.

Senator Marco Rubio indicated he’s glad that the investigation concluded there was no collusion, and jabbed Democrats for their reaction.
