Owners Patrick Mulloy, and his wife, Natalee, originally from Arizona, set out to blend their southwestern roots with southern charm, creating a unique and welcoming concept.
Mulloy said owning a restaurant had always been a dream, and he saw an opportunity to bring something fresh to the Arlington area.
“I always been passionate about cooking and craft beer. We live a mile down the road and there’s nothing up in this neighborhood. We would have to go over the bridge, Mayport, Downtown, the beach, San Marco so the previous restaurant that was here left and we decided now is the time to try.”
The Lazy Manatee features a rotating lineup of craft beers from across the country, along with wine, canned cocktails, and craft sodas.
The menu features a variety of options, including burgers, flatbreads, and specialty hot dogs including the Sonoran Dog, which is an all-beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with seasoned pinto beans and pico de gallo, inspired by Arizona flavors. Guests can also enjoy salads, as well as popular items like nachos and pretzels.
Designed with the whole family in mind, the taproom includes a kid’s area and hosts weekly events such as bingo on Mondays, all-day happy hour on Tuesdays, poker on Wednesdays, and trivia on Thursdays.
