"Lock her up": Giuliani fires up Florida delegation

“Rudy, Rudy, Rudy.”

It was the chant that welcomed former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to the Florida delegation breakfast Wednesday, with the room fired up to hear what he had to say, and delegates say he didn’t disappoint.

“Somebody asked me the other day- how can I vote for Donald, Trump who’s politically incorrect. I said ok, let’s assume he is politically incorrect, I prefer voting for someone who’s politically incorrect than a criminal,” Giuliani says.

Most of Giuliani’s address targeted Hillary Clinton. He says Governor Chris Christie made the case Tuesday night during his prime time address for why Clinton is not fit to be President.

“I never had a case that is as strong as the case against Hillary Clinton. I never ever, as a lawyer, have guaranteed a result either to the government or to my clients, because I don’t know what juries are going to do. However I would bet my life that if you put me in front of 12 fair and decent Americans and you let me prosecute this case against Hillary Clinton, she will go to jail for ten years or more,” he says.

That brought not just a huge applause, but chants of “lock her up”, just one of several times the crowd got hyped up.

I spoke with several delegates after the speech, and they were happy the case against Clinton was being laid out- and even more pleased that it’s not Trump himself having to do it.

“He should stay above that fray. He calls her ‘Crooked Hillary’, and that’s enough,” says one delegate out of Volusia County.

While a large chunk of Giuliani’s time was used for targeting Clinton, he also made sure to boost Trump along the way.

“When he says he’s going to make America great again, he means it. He means great. He means prosperous,” Giuliani says.

He also believes that Trump’s choice for Vice President- Mike Pence- shows that he’s willing to bring in “highly capable people” to fill out the Cabinet and serve as advisors.
