MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — A Clay County man has been arrested for murder of his mother after her remains were found.
Cameron Kirk, 41, was arrested Wednesday morning on charges of second degree murder after Clay County detectives found Paula Kirk’s body in her house.
Detectives received a call on Tuesday stating Paula Kirk went missing. When deputies went to the house to talk to Cameron Kirk, they noticed an odor of human decomposition. Detectives obtained a search warrant and found human remains inside the house.
While detectives were getting a warrant, Kirk left the neighborhood. He was found a few miles from his home and was arrested.
According to arrest report, Kirk shot and killed his mother and was attempting to dispose her body.
