More than a dozen burglaries allegedly tied to Jacksonville man

Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville man is accused of more than a dozen burglaries across at least nine counties in Northeast Florida.

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 55-year-old Tyrone Whitehead for three counts of commercial burglary, three counts of grand theft, and three counts of felony criminal mischief, in connection to three incidents that took place over several months. Deputies say the charges involve business burglaries at the RaceWay on Woodlawn Road, June 22nd; the Quick & Handy on Lowder St, July 11th; and the Baker Beverage on Macclenny Ave, September 9th.

Whitehead was caught at the St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, in cooperation with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

BCSO says several other agencies have outstanding arrest warrants for Whitehead, spanning at least eight other counties. They further say he was on probation at the time of his arrest and has a criminal history of similar offenses.
