NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A Nassau County Cub Scout leader is facing charges after deputies say he touched a teenager in an unwanted and sexual manner on multiple occasions.
Brandon Wayne Meredith, 44, was arrested Friday.
Meredith’s arrest report from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office was largely redacted, but Action News Jax was still able to make out a few details that led to his arrest.
According to the report, the victim, a girl, told deputies that Meredith would frequently touch her chest in an unwanted manner. She told deputies that on one occasion, Meredith came up and began fondling her chest while she was on FaceTime with a friend.
The report goes on to say that Meredith tried pulling the girl’s shirt up more, but she refused.
Deputies also interviewed a female witness, who told them she had seen Meredith touch the girl on her chest and her backside. The witness said she would talk to Meredith about his behavior being inappropriate, but he would only stop for a short while before the behavior would pick up again.
Online, Action News Jax found a Cub Scout pack in Yulee that lists a Brandon Meredith as its training chair. Action News Jax reached out to the pack and is still waiting to hear back.
