Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, vehicular access to Vilano Beach will be restricted due to a beach renourishment project that will be getting underway.
In addition, St. Johns County says the Surfside Park parking lot and pedestrian beach access point will be closed as well. On-beach driving, horseback riding, and commercial fishing will also be restricted from Vilano Beach to the Serenata Ocean Villas.
The US Army Corps of Engineers says the project to restore critically-eroded shoreline and dunes should be complete in early 2021. You can check in on the progress of the beach renourishment by clicking HERE.
