The Florida Department of Health in Duval County issued a rabies alert for Arlington Wednesday.
This is the first rabies alert this year in Duval and is effective until October 8.
The department issued the alert after discovery a rabid cat. Human exposure was also involved in the alert.

Pet owners are encouraged vaccinate their pets and make sure they are not exposed to wild animals.
North – Leon Road @ Atlantic Boulevard
South- Woodpine Drive @ Donnawood Drive
East – Alden Road @ Alden Trace Boulevard West
West- Ivey Road @ Hidden Village Drive
