St. Johns County FL — Tuesday Sheriff Rob Hardwick was officially sworn in as the new Sheriff of St. Johns County. Hardwick takes over for Sheriff David Shore who served in that post for 16 years.
Hardwick says he’s excited to get to work and his number one priority is to ensure that St. Johns County remains the best place to live, work, play and raise a family.
Hardwick previously served as the St. Augustine Beach Police Chief since 2013. He was elected back in early November when he beat out write-in candidate Scott Boutwell by 95% of the vote.
Elsewhere in Northeast Florida, Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook was sworn in Tuesday to officially start her first term as sheriff, and in Nassau County, Sheriff Bill Leaper was sworn in for a third term Tuesday as well.
