Scorching hot temps and only isolated storm coverage today

Jacksonville, FL — NE Florida is arguably feeling the hottest temps of the year with ‘feels-like’ temps up to 108 degrees. Today’s record high temp is 102 and the forecast high is for 98.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says we’ll only see widely scattered afternoon storms, primarily inland, with coverage less than one-third of the area.

Mike says afternoon storms will increase by Wednesday and through the end of the week.  That could mean storms threaten tailgating at The Rolling Stones concert Friday at TIAA Bank Field. The concert will be hot as temps fall through the 80’s after sunset.
