A Middleburg man has been arrested for a shooting where the victim suffered eight gunshot injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to Archer Street, near Breckenridge Boulevard, on Wednesday, after a person called saying he had been shot. That victim was found suffering eight apparent gunshot wounds- two in his upper right arm, three in his lower right arm, one in his upper left chest, and two in his lower left buttocks. CCSO says that victim's injuries are serious, but not life threatening.
The suspect in this shooting is 20-year-old David Jimenez. The Sheriff’s Office says Jimenez did speak with them, however his statements have been redacted from the arrest report. There was at least one witness that also spoke with investigators, but her statements have been redacted as well.
CCSO says Jimenez and the victim know each other, and the arrest report indicates they may have both lived in the home where this happened.
Jimenez has been arrested for second degree attempted murder and shooting a firearm.
