Soaking rainfall continues through the end of the week

More than 2.5″ since Sunday at JAX, more in isolated areas.

Jacksonville, Fl — A stalled out front is delivering all this rain this week. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says since Sunday, at least 2.5′' had fallen at JAX. And some neighborhoods in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns County have had 3 - 5′'.

Numerous showers and storms will develop after lunch and spread east in NE Florida. Neighborhoods south of I-10 will see the greatest amounts today. A half inch to an inch of rain is possible there. Showers and storms will linger into the evening in NE Florida.

TROPICS: Tracking a couple of tropical waves over the far Eastern Atlantic moving rather slowly westward - no development anytime soon. Series of weak lows along stalled front across the N. Gulf/W. Atlantic but no development for right now.

Some lingering showers are possible overnight as well. Showers and storms continue tomorrow as well. Afternoon thunderstorms are likely into the weekend.
