Dajshon Asbell

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. — UPDATE 6/21/25: The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a man was shot by deputies Friday night after an hours-long standoff on Indian Trail.

Deputies were trying to arrest Dajshon Asbell on multiple warrants. He ran into a utility building with his girlfriend and refused to come out.

After failed negotiations and attempts to gas him out, Asbell ran at deputies with a sharp object and attacked a K-9.

Three deputies used non-lethal rounds before he was shot.

No deputies were hurt. The K-9 is expected to be okay.

Asbell went into surgery, but there are no updates yet on his condition.
