Suspect in murder of Jacksonville teen caught in Tallahassee

The suspect in the murder of a 14-year-old in Jacksonville has been caught in Tallahassee.

Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force Tallahassee Division Supervisor US Marshal Marty West says the arrest happened at an apartment complex on South Adams Street Monday afternoon. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals in this area developed information that led them to believe their suspect was with friends in Tallahassee. It took negotiators about 45 minutes to convince 24-year-old Bryan Goggins to surrender.

Goggins is accused of murder in the shooting of multiple people August 12, according to West. A 14-year-old female was killed in the shooting.

JSO says they have no information to offer about this arrest or what case it's connected to. Based on the information from the US Marshal's, it may be a fatal Brentwood shooting.

West says Goggins is in the Leon County Jail and will have a first appearance and extradition hearing Tuesday.
