AT&T in talks to buy DirecTV

According to sources, telecommunications giant AT&T is in talks to buy satellite TV serivce DirecTV for $50 billion.

The parternship could solve some major problems for DirecTV. Last August, DirecTV saw a quarterly decline in subscribers for only the second time ever. Many blame the rise of other streaming sites, such as Netflix and Hulu.

AT&T isn't the only company interested in making the purchase. Back in March, Dish Network attempted to buy DirecTV, but the two sides couldn't work on a deal due to pricing among other issues.

Sources say the potential deal could be as close as two weeks away.
