Trial date set for woman charged with abducting newborn from Jacksonville hospital in 1998

Jacksonville, FL — The woman accused of kidnapping Kamiyah Mobley from a Jacksonville hospital when she was hours-old in 1998 is scheduled to stand trial in November.

Gloria Williams is facing a final pretrial date of November 7th,  and jury selection will begin November 13th.

Williams is charged with kidnapping the infant,  raising her as her own under the name Alexis Manigo.  They were found in South Carolina in January.

The infant was taken just hours after birth July 10, 1998, from UF Health Jacksonville- which at the time was University Medical Center. The suspect in the abduction was dressed like a nurse, and according to the original incident report, she spent time with Mobley’s 16-year-old mother helping her and talking with her, before instructing her to put the baby down and then leaving with the newborn.

Williams has pleaded not guilty.
