Jacksonville, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the woman who died in a wrong-way crash in the Hart Bridge ramps as 74-year-old Joan Kinsler, of Bartow, Florida.
The crash caused traffic problems for hours on Thursday. FHP says a 52-year-old Jacksonville man was traveling south on the northbound lanes of the Hart Expressway ramps from Adams Street in Downtown. That SUV hit a 2018 Chevy Equinox, in which Kinsler was a passenger. The driver and another passenger in that vehicle suffered minor injuries, and a fourth person was seriously hurt, according to the crash report.
FHP says the wrong-way SUV then hit another vehicle, as well as the concrete barrier wall. Debris from the SUV then hit yet another vehicle. Nobody was hurt the third and fourth vehicles, but the wrong-way driver also suffered serious injuries.
FHP says charges are pending further investigation.
