Jacksonville, FL — We’re two months away from Christmas but it’s going to feel like late summer today and throughout the weekend. Expect to feel near-record high temperatures, high humidity, and times of rain and storms.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says the weekend will feature rounds of scattered showers and storms, as well as long hours of sunshine.
High temperatures will be in the upper 80’s to near 90 degrees. And if we hit 90 on Sunday it would tie the latest date Jacksonville has ever hit 90. It’s more of the same into next week, too.
In the tropics, the First Alert Weather team is tracking a broad area of low pressure in the Western Gulf of Mexico. The disturbance has become better organized since yesterday and could briefly become a tropical depression before bringing soaking rains to the central Gulf coast tonight.
