Weekend will start off dry, tropical downpours expected at times

Jacksonville, FL — Cristobal is still forecast to enter the warm Gulf waters after exiting south Mexico by this evening and strengthen to a Tropical Storm as it moves north.

Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says the storm is forecast to make landfall on the Louisiana coastline by late Sunday.

“We could see some of that tropical feed of moisture move over the area here depending on how far west or east Cristobal actually goes so something to keep in mind, especially Sunday, if you have outdoor plans”, said Bedenbaugh.

Today, we'll see showers by the midday and afternoon, more scattered than yesterday. Saturday will feature more scattered showers and storms in the afternoon.

By early next week a more familiar summer-time weather pattern returns with afternoon showers and storms.
