Wind shift to push storms inland

Very warm and humid day. Scattered midday showers and storms along I-95 corridor then shifting inland.

Jacksonville, Fl — We are going to feel subtle changes in our weather pattern as the work week draws to a close. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says winds off the Atlantic Ocean will push storms more inland.

A few morning showers are possible near or east of I-95 to the beaches, then shifting along the I-95 corridor by midday and then near or west of U.S. 301 later in the day.

Temperatures surge into the upper 80s near 90. Locally heavy rainfall and lightning are the primary threats. Another day tomorrow with afternoon storms.

TROPICS: Two tropical waves (one east of The Windward Islands, one moving off the west coast of Africa) bear watching in the long-term. They aren’t a concern for Florida in the short-term. We will keep you updated.
