Coronavirus: Florida adds 4,000 new COVID-19 cases in single day again

According to Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, 4,451 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Florida Thursday.

Since June 24, there have only been two days that the state has reported less than 4,000 new cases in a single day.

On Aug. 17, 3,431 new coronavirus cases were reported, and on Aug. 18, 3,534 cases were reported.

The state reached it’s peak on July 12 when 12,761 new cases were reported in a single day.

According to WFTV, about 30,000 negative test results were registered Thursday, keeping the state’s positive cases rate below 10%.

More than 587,000 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Florida since the onset of the pandemic, according to data from the CDC. About 10,000 people have died in the state.

In comparison, California has reported about 650,000 total coronavirus cases and 11,000 deaths; Texas has reported about 567,000 cases and 11,000 deaths; and New York has reported about 429,000 cases and 32,500 deaths.
