We’ll take Michael Strahan at his word for now, but the timing sure seems suspect.
The former New York Giants defensive end and Hall of Famer was known for his ferocity as a player, but also for his gap-toothed grin. The Super Bowl XLII champion posted a video Tuesday on social media that showed him going to the dentist and having the gap closed, Sports Illustrated reported.
Skeptics will point out that Strahan, 49 posted his video on Twitter and Instagram less than 48 hours before April Fools’ Day. So, caveat emptor.
Strahan, who currently is a co-host on “Good Morning America,” shared video of himself in the dentist’s chair.
He notes that his fans, friends and business partner have all advised him against the dental procedure, but Strahan is adamant in the video.
Strahan got a temporary removable dental piece, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“It’ll be 50 years in the making,” Strahan says in the video.
When the procedure was finished, Strahan gave it a thumb’s-up after looking in a mirror.
“I love it!” he exclaimed. flashing his brand new smile.
On Instagram, Strahan captioned the video, “I did it. @smiledesignmanhattan #GoodbyeGap.” His video on Twitter simply had the hashtag #GoodbyeGap.
