Dorit Kemsley, star of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reality television show, was robbed of designer bags and jewelry at her California home Wednesday night, multiple news sources reported.
The theft is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles Times reported. Police are seeking three people who they said broke into Kemsley’s Encino home at about 10:50 p.m. PDT and confronted her directly, the newspaper reported.
“The victim was in fear and complied with the suspects’ demands by directing them to valuables,” LAPD officials told the Times. “The suspects took handbags, jewelry and watches with a significant monetary loss and fled the location in a black truck.”
According to NBC News, quoting “multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigations,” the thieves entered the house by smashing a rear window, then went upstairs and encountered the victim in bed.
Police said one of the intruders threatened to kill Kemsley and ordered her to show them items in the home, the network reported. Although police did not put a price on the stolen items, NBC News said the thieves left with about $1 million in Kemsley’s belongings.
Kemsley, who owns a swimwear and athleisure line, could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday, according to the Times.
In an episode of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” that aired Wednesday night, Kemsley said she had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of designer bags, KTTV reported.
The “Real Housewives” franchise focuses on the lives of wealthy women and highlights their high-end possessions and upscale homes, the Times reported.
Kemsley and her husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, moved to the Los Angeles area in 2015 and have two children, according to the newspaper.
In June, Kemsley gave fans a tour of her home in an online Bravo video, showing off her designer labels in her large walk-in closet, E! Online reported. She bought the Encino mansion in 2019 for $6.4 million, according to public records.
