A former corrections officer is accused of stabbing his wife and step-daughter early Thursday morning.

Police charged 52-year-old Charles Hendrix with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. The sheriff's office says Hendrix got into an altercation with his wife and step-daughter at their home on Old Peniel Road early Thursday morning. Investigators say both women were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hendrix spent 30 months on probation for an accidental shooting incident in 2011. Hendrix was not married to his wife then but according to police reports he shot her in the face with his .40 caliber Glock handgun. He was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon and received 30 months probation.

Hendrix is a former Bradford county corrections officer.
