Friday morning a decision is expected from the attorney for Logan Mott on the 15-year-old’s future. If Mott’s attorney decides to waive the extradition hearing it would allow Mott to return to Florida, but if they decide to fight extradition, Mott could stay in a New York jail for months.
Jacksonville Police say they have an arrest warrant out on Mott for murdering his Grandmother, Kristina French.
Mott’s attorney, Dominic Saraceno, says they don’t know if they will fight extradition yet.
“By Friday we’ll make out determination on whether or not were gonna ask for a hearing, or weather we are gonna waive our hearing and agree to go back.” Saraceno says.
The Erie County District Attorney says it doesn’t matter what happens, Mott will be back in Duval County at some point.
“All this is is a delay tactic. Which is fine with me, that’s no skin off me. He’s gonna sit in custody.” Says Erie County District Attorney John Flynn.
Mott’s Attorney says he doesn’t know if Mott will be charged as an adult yet.
