Jacksonville Police officer involved in Northwest crash with injuries

Jacksonville, Fl. — An officer with Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was taken to the hospital along with another driver after an overnight crash on New Kings Road.

Police say the officer was responding to a call to help a fellow officer with an emergency when the officer made contact with a curb in the median of New Kings Road. A white SUV was also involved in the crash.

It is unclear how the SUV became involved in the crash. That driver was taken to the hospital for possible injuries.

The officer is reported to have a cut to his head. WOKV is working to confirm that information.
