Jacksonville — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help finding a man accused of burglarizing a church in Mandarin.
JSO initially put out a call to the public for help identifying the suspect today, but soon said he had been identified. JSO has not commented specifically on their efforts to capture the suspect.
The incident report says the suspect smashed a window at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church early last Tuesday, January 23rd. The suspect is accused of prying open a safe, taking money from the register of the gift shop, and checking many other rooms in the church through the commission of the burglary.
The church captured the incident on surveillance, which showed the suspect enter with a backpack, hammer, and flashlight, according to the incident report.
