JSO releases photos of robbery suspect accused of shooting 72-year-old, asks for any information

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for any information, after an armed robbery turned shooting, north of downtown.

According to police, at around 5:45 pm on Tuesday, August 29th, a man entered the Family Dollar at 2610 North Main Street, armed with a silver revolver.

JSO says he then walked toward the cash register, jumped the counter, told the clerk to move, and grabbed the register.

At some point during the robbery, police say he fired once, striking a 72-year-old customer in the chest.

Witness tell our partner Action News Jax he was trying to stop the robber. Police describe his injuries as non-life threatening.

As for the suspect, he was last seen fleeing toward 16th Street. Police believe he drives a white pickup truck.
